Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes what Dawson County Busted Mugshots receives when a visitor searches, sends a message, or loads a page, how that information is used, and when it may be shared. Using the resource means accepting these practices. Outside government and search-provider pages have their own policies.

Information Sent Directly

Search terms

A name, place, or other query entered into a search widget can be sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The provider controls its own processing, retention, and terms. Dawson County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own servers through the widget.

Messages and requests

If a visitor sends an email or a contact message, the information supplied in that message is kept long enough to read it, respond, protect the resource, and maintain a reasonable business record. Messages are not sold. They are not shared outside the operating organization unless a service provider is needed to deliver the message or disclosure is required by law.

Technical Data from Page Loads

Web hosting, analytics, security, and delivery systems can record ordinary technical details when a page is requested. The data may include:

  • Internet Protocol address or a related network identifier.
  • Browser type, version, language, and basic settings.
  • Device category, operating system, and screen or connection details when supplied.
  • Pages viewed and the approximate time spent on them.
  • The referring page or website, when a browser sends one.
  • Request timestamps and ordinary error or performance data.

Cookies and similar tools

Cookies or comparable storage may help understand how visitors use the resource, preserve a preference, measure traffic, or support advertising and search functions. Browser controls can block or clear cookies. If they are blocked, a search widget or another feature may not behave as expected.

How the Information Is Used

Data is used for ordinary operation and service needs, not to create an official Dawson County custody record. Permitted uses include:

  • Keeping pages, navigation, hosting, and delivery working.
  • Sending a search query to the provider selected for that search function.
  • Understanding which pages are useful and where visitors encounter problems.
  • Detecting abuse, investigating errors, and improving technical performance.
  • Delivering advertising or partner features that may reflect browsing interests.

Technical and message data may also be used to protect the resource, comply with legal duties, enforce terms, or respond to a security incident. A third-party search result is not treated as a government record or as proof of custody.

Links and Outside Services

Pages link to the Dawson County Sheriff's Office, the detention roster, VINE, Georgia courts, GDC, federal locators, local news publishers, and other research services. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's privacy notice and data practices apply. Dawson County Busted Mugshots does not control that destination's uptime, collection, retention, security, or response to a request.

Advertising partners may use cookies or similar tools to measure activity across sites and show interest-based advertising on their own systems. Their use of data is governed by their notices. A link or sponsored result is not an endorsement of a destination's accuracy, coverage, or terms.

Who May Receive Data

Personal information is not sold by the operator. It may nevertheless be handled by the following categories when needed to provide or protect the service:

  • Search partners that process a query submitted through their widget.
  • Hosting, analytics, security, email, and technical service providers.
  • Advertising networks or measurement partners that operate their own systems.
  • Law enforcement, courts, regulators, or other government bodies when a valid legal order or duty requires disclosure.

Information may also be disclosed to protect people, investigate fraud or abuse, defend legal rights, or support a transfer of the operating assets, subject to applicable law.

Security Is a Best Effort

Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are used for information under the operator's control. No internet-connected service, email account, browser, or storage system is fully secure. The operator cannot promise that data will never be intercepted, altered, lost, or accessed without permission.

Visitors should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information in a message. A public booking question normally needs a name, approximate date, location, and case or booking identifier when known, not medical details or a full home address.

Visitors Under 18

The resource is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent personal information, a parent or legal guardian may ask for it to be reviewed and deleted, subject to a reasonable identity check and any legal retention duty.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on the information and the law that applies, a visitor may ask about the personal data held by the operator. Available requests can include:

  • A copy or description of personal data maintained about the requester.
  • Correction of a factual error in a message or account record.
  • Deletion of information when it is no longer needed and no retention duty applies.
  • Restriction or objection to certain processing, including some optional analytics or advertising activity.

Requests should identify the relevant email address, message, or other data without sending more sensitive material than needed. The operator may need to verify the requester and may decline or narrow a request when disclosure would affect another person, legal rights, security, or a required record.

Changes to This Notice

This Privacy Notice may be revised when the resource, partners, technology, or legal requirements change. A revised version takes effect when it is posted here with a new effective date or other clear notice. Continued use after a revision means the updated practices apply going forward.
